Blessed Generation in Malindi

In 2005 a new orphanage of Blessed Generation was opened in Malindi, a city on the coast of the Indian Ocean.

The children grow up and are educated in a traditional Kenyan way. Kenyan "mamas" help to educate the children. Important issues are that they learn how to work together, become more independent and go to school. In Kenya education is the key to life, to the future and to getting a job. To provide a good education the orphanages are having their own nursery and primary schools in their compound. The older children are attending a secondary school/college outside of the children's centers. After school education they go on job training so that afterwards they can find a job in order to live on their own and be independent. In this way these children help to build up Kenya. The first children of the children's center in Ruiru who completed their education already got good jobs and are succeeding.

Technical school job training
In 2006 Blessed Generation set up a technical school at the children's center in Malindi. The children learn about agriculture and farming, raising cattle, medical cure and tourism business. All 40 participants of the first year have found a job in the area they were trained for after having completed the training at the technical school of Blessed Generation.

Outreach and micro financing programs
The outreach program is focused on the prevention of children becoming orphans. The people in the surrounding areas of the camp are supported so that these families can be more independent. To these children Blessed Generation offers school education. Spirit of Faith Foundation provides micro-financial aids to the families. This gives them the possibility to set up their own businesses, such as a bike rental shop.
